長谷川貞信（初代）
大坂の浮世絵師、長谷川貞信（初代）の役者絵には、金を摺り込んだために江戸で売り止めになったものがある。芝居の絵で評判を得た貞信は、故郷を描いた「浪花百景」などの名所絵でも知られる。 貞信は文化6年（1809年）、大坂南船場に生まれた。実家は茶巾や袱紗を商う店だった。はじめは四条派の画家、上田公長に学んだが、修行の途中で実家の商売が立ちゆかなくなる。
