喜多川歌麿
喜多川歌麿は幼いころ、糸でつないだトンボや手のひらのコオロギに夢中だったという。師の鳥山石燕が『画本虫撰』の跋に書き残した話だ。のちに女性の顔と上半身を大きく描く美人大首絵で、それまでの美人画を一変させるほどの人気を集めた。 生年も出生地も確かではない。宝暦3年（1753年）生まれという通説は、寺に残る享年から逆算したものだ。
